|
A Graduate of UCLA
BIO: Whitney Boole obtained her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and her Bachelors in Communication Studies at UCLA. Whitney is skilled at organizing around the client's needs and goals, offering a compassionate non-judgmental approach to psychotherapy. She believes in helping clients to find healthy ways of coping in their daily lives and make meaning out of life's obstacles. Whitney is also skilled in working with all types of trauma ranging from small, developmental traumas to more significant trauma, and believes that sometimes present situations become even more disturbing because they are informed by triggers created in the past. She is trained in EMDR, a therapeutic approach aimed at treating our negative irrational beliefs about ourselves, body sensations and emotions associated with past experiences, and utilizes EMDR to help individuals adapt to present situations more successfully. In addition to her work at Recovery NOW, she provides individual, family and couples counseling at Antioch University Counseling Center, a community clinic in Culver City. Before working in clinical psychology, Whitney worked as a Screenwriter in the entertainment industry and has an understanding of "the business" and the unique issues that go along with it.
